Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using the WeMillion mobile application (“the App”), or by using the website at wemillion.world (“the Website”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. Together the App and the Website are referred to as “the Service”. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Joining is possible either through the App or directly on the Website. Both lead to the same single global registry and the same shared counter, but they use different payment processors and different refund routes — see clause 5.

WeMillion is a social experiment whose goal is to collect one million dollars, one dollar at a time. Joining costs a single payment of approximately one dollar, and in return each participant receives a unique numbered position in the global registry. The Service tracks real-time participation worldwide.

The exact amount and currency depend on where you join. In the App the price is set by Apple for your storefront (approximately USD $0.99, shown in your local currency). On the Website the price is USD $1.00, or EUR €1.00 if you are in the eurozone. Whichever you pay, it counts as one unit towards the counter.

After joining, a participant may optionally contribute further amounts (see clause 5). Contributing more does not change the participant's number and does not grant any additional position in the registry. There is no product, service, reward, or benefit of any kind beyond the numbered position itself and the purely cosmetic public displays described in clause 5.7.

The public counter shown in the App and on the website counts dollars collected, not participants. Because a participant may contribute more than one dollar, the number of dollars collected may exceed the number of participants.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by applicable law in your country) to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

The Service does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any identifier. A silent anonymous Firebase Authentication session is created on your device or in your browser so that the backend can attach your payment to a record. We do not collect or store your name, email address, or Apple identifier.

Because this anonymous session belongs to the device, your durable proof of participation is your purchase, not the session. If you reinstall the App or use a new device, presenting your existing App Store purchase restores your original number.

On the Website, the anonymous session belongs to that browser. It is optional, and entirely up to you, to link it to a Google account afterwards (Settings → “Save my account”). If you do, you can sign in on another browser or device and recover your number; if you do not, clearing your browser data or switching device will lose access to it. Your number and your payment remain recorded either way, but we may be unable to identify them as yours. If you choose to link a Google account, we receive the email address associated with it — see the Privacy Policy.

5.1 Joining in the App. Joining requires one non-consumable in-app purchase of approximately USD $0.99 processed through Apple's App Store (StoreKit 2). The exact price may vary by region as set by Apple. This purchase is what assigns your number.

5.1b Joining on the Website. Joining costs a single payment of USD $1.00, or EUR €1.00 if you are in the eurozone, processed through Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.). You may pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, depending on your browser and device. The amount charged is the amount shown to you before you confirm. Your number is assigned only once Stripe has confirmed the payment succeeded.

5.2 Optional additional contributions. Once you have joined, you may optionally contribute further, in tiers of 1, 10, 100 and 1,000 units of the currency you joined in. In the App these are consumable in-app purchases through Apple; on the Website they are additional payments through Stripe. Either way they may be made as many times as you choose, and each is charged separately.

5.3 An additional contribution increases the public dollar counter and your own recorded total. It does not assign you a new number, does not change your existing number, and confers no product, service, priority, or advantage of any kind.

5.4 ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE, except as required by applicable law or Apple's own refund policy. Because the sole benefit is a numbered position in a one-time global registry, and that position is irreversibly assigned at the moment of payment, no refunds will be granted by the publisher on the basis of regret or change of mind.

5.5 Refunds for App purchases. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple through the App Store. The publisher has no ability to issue refunds outside of Apple's systems. Where Apple grants a refund for an additional contribution, the corresponding amount is removed from your recorded total and from the public contributors list.

5.5b Refunds for Website purchases. Apple is not involved in Website payments. Refund requests for a payment made on the Website must instead be sent to the publisher at felixthiollier63@gmail.com, and any refund is issued by the publisher through Stripe. Nothing in clause 5.4 limits the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country of residence.

5.6 Each participant may join only once — one Apple ID in the App, one account in the Website. Attempting to join again after a successful payment will be refused. This restriction does not apply to the optional additional contributions described in clause 5.2.

5.7 Public display of contributions. Additional contributions are shown publicly in two places: a live activity feed, and a “Top Users” list ranking the largest contributors. Both display only your registry number, your country, and the amount — never your name, email address, or any other identifying information. These displays are visible only to participants who have joined.

5.8 Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (in the App) or by Stripe (on the Website). The publisher does not have access to your payment card details at any time, on either.

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” YOUR NUMBERED POSITION IN THE REGISTRY IS THE SOLE AND ENTIRE BENEFIT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION, WHATEVER AMOUNT YOU CONTRIBUTE. THE PUBLISHER MAKES NO REPRESENTATION THAT THE APP WILL REACH ONE MILLION DOLLARS, THAT IT WILL REMAIN AVAILABLE INDEFINITELY, OR THAT PARTICIPATION CARRIES ANY FINANCIAL, SOCIAL, OR OTHER VALUE. CONTRIBUTING MORE THAN ONE DOLLAR CONFERS NO ADDITIONAL RIGHT, CLAIM, OWNERSHIP, OR EXPECTATION OF RETURN OF ANY KIND.

All content, design, and code in the App are the exclusive property of the publisher or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

You agree not to:

• Attempt to manipulate, falsify, or interfere with the payment counter or any data in the App;
• Use automated means (bots, scripts) to interact with the App;
• Exploit any bug or vulnerability;
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE PUBLISHER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. THE PUBLISHER'S TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (APPROXIMATELY USD $0.99).

These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that may apply in your country of residence.

The publisher may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after notice of changes constitutes acceptance. The current version will always be accessible within the App.
